Day 284 – Floating

Performance art floating lady covent garden

“Though we may all look at the same things, it does not all follow that we should see them.” ~ John Lubbock

This was taken in Covent Garden, London. There were a series of these street performers who looked like they were statues floating in the air. They were actual people and sometimes would move making people jump. They were very all very cool but this was definitely my favourite. The lady was full of smiles and if she saw people taking pictures she was happy to look directly at them and hold her umbrella still. It is one of my favourite things about Covent Garden, every time you go you will see something different and you never know quite what that might be.

She looks like she’s popped in like a kind of time traveler, totally out of place in the modern world. Fabulous image!

I would have loved seeing this lady too. 🙂 She is gorgeous. I have seen some explanation to the floating somewhere long ago. But of course don´t remember how.

I admire the stealth of these people, who stand still in the streets for hours. Thank you for linking up with Through my Lens!
