I spotted this little family group while we were walking along the coast at Whitstable. As you can see it was not the ideal day for playing in the water but I liked how, in true British style, they were ignoring the wind and the few spits and spots of rain and having a good time. I liked the way the parents were sitting, there is something strong and intimate about them as they watch over their children.
I think this quote is so very true and something I have definitely done with my children. Yeaching them independence is very important, doing everything for them is only making a rod for your own back especially as they grow up because you can then find yourself basically being their servants. It is definitely a balancing act though and one that can be a challenge to achieve but stepping back and letting them go it alone is worth the work in the long run.
This looks a lovely place to enjoy, the water looks a little rough
Thank you for linking up
Indeed they can…. and it should be something that goes automatically doesn’t it
Hard to let go, even knowing it’s the right thing to do. All seems to happen so fast. Great photo of a family moment, and like the yachts racing on the horizon too.
Very true. I remember watching my kids in such a way that they weren’t even aware I was watching.
a wonderful image. Love the setting and execution. I can almost feel the wind in my hair.
Strong words and a lovely image to go with it.
