“The significance of the cherry blossom tree in Japanese culture goes back hundreds of years. In their country, the cherry blossom represents the fragility and the beauty of life. It’s a reminder that life is almost overwhelmingly beautiful but that it is also tragically short.” ~ Homaro Cantu
Sadly this image was not taken in Japan but right outside my house. Every year it is covered in these beautiful soft white blooms for about a week or so before it all falls to the ground, littering the pavement like wedding confetti. It is fleeting in its beauty but relentless in its annual cycle.
Cherry Blossoms are so well loved by all! They are such a sign of hope.
Love the quote you featured with the photo, it’s important to remember how fragile life is. I also admire the purple shade you have throughout the photo, it has a wonderful mystical feel to it.
How lovely that you have cherry blossoms right in your own back yard
