I took this picture in the UK Border Agency National Museum in Liverpool. It is one of the many copies that was confiscated by the UK border police prior to 1960. Apparently it was quite a common thing for ladies of ‘class and distinction’ to travel to Europe for their summer holidays and return with this amongst their belongs. I wonder if they did anything else whilst on holiday apart from reading…
