When I spotted this helicopter hovering in the skies over Liverpool at first I was astounded as the wind was blowing really hard and the pilot was managing to hold it perfectly steady in their air as they watched the Everton football fans gather for their match. Of course I couldn’t resist trying to get a picture of it but it seriously was just a dot on the horizon and with the sun glinting off the body of the helicopter now and then, it took me ages to even find it in the sky with my long lens. I got there in the end though and I don’t often say this about my photographs, I have a very strong self critical streak, but I think this one bloody awesome shot, you can even see the rotor blades and the clear blue sky provides a truly beautiful canvas for this strangest of machines that man has invented.
