Reflection of lights and poeple in Paris cafe window

You can’t escape the past in Paris, and yet what’s so wonderful about it is that the past and present intermingle so intangibly that it doesn’t seem to burden.

The last time I went to Paris was in November 2010. During that visit Michael proposed to me at the top of the Eiffel Tower. Afterwards we went into a cafe nearby and eat a delicious dinner at 11pm at night. We were one of the only people in the place and we always joke about he fact that my half carafe of red wine cost less that Michael’s diet coke. When we went back last month one of the things we really wanted to do was to find that cafe again because it had such wonderful memories for us. After a bit of searching we found it. It was lunch time and busy and we had other places to get to that day so we didn’t go in but it made me so happy to find it. We have promised ourselves that we will go back again just for the purpose of eating in this restaurant again. Oh and the man reflected in the glass, that is my darling husband.
