This is the inside of the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London. This the the third theatre on this site, the first one was built in 1732, the second in 1808 and the third in 1858. The previous two were destroyed by fire. The opera house is the official home of the Royal Opera and the Royal Ballet. Just before Christmas I managed to take my daughter to see a dress rehearsal of The Nutcracker. The price of the tickets is beyond anything we could afford but on this occasion a friend of my Mum’s, who was unable to attend, kindly gifted them to us.
So lush and regal!
