Day 312 – Ophelia

orange sky caused by Hurrican Ophelia

Lost in Static 18
And the storm is closing in now
Automatic 18 – Got to push through – Trapped in living hell
You’re a prisoner of the dark sky
The propeller blades are still
And the evil eye of the hurricane’s
Coming in now for the kill
~ Mike Oldfield
A couple of weeks ago Storm Ophelia made its way across Ireland and Scotland battering them with wind and rain. It has started life as Hurricane Ophelia but by the time it made it this far north it had been down graded to a storm. Now we live just north of London, a fairly long way from the areas directly effected by the storm but we did experience a very strange part of it. All the sand and dust it had sucked up in journey north, mainly from the wild fires in Spain and Portugal were dragged along at the storms edge and turning our world the eeriest dark orange colour and in places the sun a dark red colour. This weird other worldy colour really is exactly what it looked like. I have not done anything to this picture to make it more orange.

It’s amazing what beauty you can find during such bad weather. Nicely done!
