“It is not the walls that make the city, but the people who live within them. The walls of London may be battered, but the spirit of the Londoner stands resolute and undismayed.” ~ George VI
Clearly not said about modern London but about a war time London however the sentiment is a true to today as it was then and as it was in the days when the Tower was the central masterpiece in London. Oh and if you are curious about how I got this shot it was from the view platform on the Shard
Beautiful and poignant shot! Share your sentiment, Molly. Didn’t think they would allow London to come to this present state. Hopefully “someone” is going to do something about it, and bring the city back to peace and enjoyment for all.
Wonderful view! I loved the walls of the Tower of London (seeing them from the ground) and that they are still standing centuries after they were built. I see next time I’m in London I will have to go to the top of the Shard!
