This is actually a quote about New York but it works just as well for London because beneath the sprawling city there is miles and miles of tunnels, cables, drains, train tracks and people. it is surprising that it has not all caved in on itself but I guess that is testament to mans engineering, construction skills and determination to overcome our environment and mold it to our needs.
