Poppy flower in interpretive black and white

“Color is descriptive. Black and white is interpretive.” – Elliott Erwitt

This is a bright red poppy. Or at least it was. I really like how this edit brings out the patterns of the veins that run through its petals. They look delicate, almost papery. You can see the veins in the colour version but they are not the thing that captures your attention, that would be the red. Bold and bright it dominates the image. In black and white finer details are allowed to take the stage.
