Black and white shapes of stanborough lakes

“There’s something really appealing about the simplicity of black-and-white images.” ~ Joseph Gordon-Levitt

I took this image a few weeks ago. The sun was low, almost setting in the sky and the light across the lake was lovely. I have some colour versions but I think this black and white does make for a very simple image. It is about shapes and textures and light. Without the colour those things become the real focus of the image. The shapes of the clouds, the ripples in the water, and the reflections all seem to jump out and demand attention.
