Day 216 – Poppy Print

Wild red poppy in sunlight field

Summer set lip to earth’s bosom bare,
And left the flushed print in a poppy there.
~Francis Thompson

I will happily admit to be really rather proud of this image. I think the way the sunlight is cutting through the clouds and picking out just a few of the poppies looks amazing and I managed to control the light balance well. I also love the little tiny bug you can see in the top middle of the image. It really is rather sharp in the shot, that I have to confess was truly a fluke of nature appearing at just the right moment.

A fantastic shot – The light, the sharpness, the silhouettes … Voila!

It is, indeed, a beautiful shot! I thought the bug was a clever add-in but am amazed to learn that it was really there!
