Despite what this says it is no longer a night safe but is now just a little part of history of the town of Rye in East Sussex. Once upon this was indeed Barclays Bank night safe and in the evenings local shop keepers would drop their takings into it at the end of the day. What you can’t see in the image is that in the wall right next to it there is a cash point machine. The old sits right next to the new, although what the shop keepers do with their takings now is anyone’s guess as the machine does not seem to except deposits.
Very nice. I loved detailed, macro shots and you’ve done a beautiful job with this one.
Wonderful photo…. although I have my doubts about the real safety of it 😉
Gosh! I can remember seeing these on a regular basis – sadly not so much any more though. A great capture 🙂
