Bodiam Castle was built in 1385 by Sir Edward Dalyngrigge, a former knight of Edward III, with the permission of Richard II, ostensibly to defend the area against French invasion during the Hundred Years’ War. Now it stands partially ruined and yet still imposingly beautiful deep within the Sussex countryside.

In it’s day I think it would have been a very impressive place to live but not so much now mainly because of a lack of roof 😉
