My daughter is a total book worm. In fact that is an understatement, she is a book monster. She consumes them with a ferocity and speed that is at times astounding. In the last week alone she has read 4 books. None of them were particularly short or ‘easy reads’ either but then the school informs me she has a reading age of over 11 years. She is 8 years old. I love that she loves books, she has a lifetime of discovery ahead of her; adventures, love affairs, deaths, mysteries, fantasies, worlds that she can’t even begin to dream of yet and characters that she will laugh, cry and mourn. I wonder where on earth she got her joy of reading from….

This image jumped right out of the linky at me. I really like it. How wonderful your daughter is a bookworm. I’d like to be, but….I don’t know; I always feel like I’m supposed to finish everything else and then I can read. 3 pages later, I’m asleep. Must have been a lack in elem school or something-obviously your daughter has been inspired. Great shot.
Oh I was like her. Always with my head in a book. I still am. It is too bad that my boys never enjoyed it the way I did. Wonderful photo. V
I wonder what it is about boys and reading. I have a son too and he will read but not like her, not for hours on end until you think their eyes might fall out.
I have a bookworm, too. Let’s just say that our library card is our best friend. Otherwise, I’d never be able to keep her in books 😉 Visiting from Sweet Shot Tuesday.
She is going to be one great writer someday if she so desires. Excellent!
Here in the island of Panglao, Bohol in the Philippines. We participate in community service by providing sessions in reading/storytelling for grade school pupils. In the photo essay I posted on my blog, they are first graders at a local public school.
I think it is wonderful when kids love to read!
My daughter was very much a book worm when she was this age.
I remember her waiting at the mailbox for the postman to deliver the latest Harry Potter book. Then until she was finished with it, she would only leave her room to eat.
Thank you so very much for sharing with us at The Creative Exchange today.
Have a wonderful evening!
