Day 193 – Scarlet Tide

Field of bright red poppies as far as the eye can see

“And far and wide, in a scarlet tide, The poppy’s bonfire spread.” ~ Bayard Taylor Quotes

Fields of wild poppy flowers are just the most beautiful thing I think but sadly because of farming and the pesticides used to kill weeds they have been hugely in decline and so finding them can be quite difficult.

Lovely! I didn’t know they were in decline. They always remind me of WWI and I love history, so I enjoy finding poppies. They aren’t prevalent where I live in San Diego, though we do have orange poppies here and there (the state flower!).

Sadly farming and chemical sprays that destroy ‘weeds’ means that they are in decline in the wild

Fantastic quote and the poppy photo brought it alive.
