Day 29 – Blue landscape

blue sunset reflected in water landscape

“To the complaint, ‘There are no people in these photographs,’ I respond, There are always two people: the photographer and the viewer.” ~ Ansel Adams

I can’t even pretend to be close to Adams greatness when it comes to landscape photography. He truly was the master of the art form. One has to wonder what he would have made of the digital age though. Would he have embraced it and explored as a new and exciting art form or would he has resolutely stuck to film. I think he was a creative man and so I believe he would have embraced it with a joyful zeal but we shall never really know.

Some people argue that landscapes must only contain land and that once you have water they become waterscapes or seascapes. I guess if you are being absolutely literal about the definition that is correct but for me the relationship between land and water is powerfully interwoven.
