“Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.” ~ Lauren DeStefano
One of the best bits of that grand finale is the conkers. Seeing their shells pop open and releasing their perfectly shiny seed from within always reminds me of my childhood when I would go out with my Grandparents into the wood and collect them up in my pockets. They felt like treasure then and now as an adult I can’t help but still see them as such.
Fall is an ending, but with a promise for a new beginning. My garden is almost put to bed. We get somewhat mild winters so many plants survive outdoors, but most have gone to sleep. – Margy
