Water doesn’t belong to us, be we belong to water: when it has passed through our fingers and pores and bodies, nothing separates us from earth.” ~ Emmi Itäranta
I love how the trees seems to be bleeding into the water. The soft ripples make them look almost as if they have been painted into the watery world below. This is a local pond which is home to a rather large amount of Ducks, Geese and Swans that nest on the couple of little islands that sit out in the middle of it. It is also, I have discovered, home to rather a lot of rats, one of whom popped up out the water right near my feet just after I took this picture and scuttled off into the bushes. I can’t say I was overjoyed to see it but it was amazing to see it swimming happily along. They really are rather proficient in the water
