The Human Condition

So I have completed my first 365 project and decided to embark on another year of this insanity however as part of the project I have decided to try to post more portraits/people images. I have set myself the task of posting at least 2 a week.

As part of that I am going to try to gather some random portraits of people I meet during the year and these will hopefully come with a some dialogue they have provided called “I wish, I want, I wonder. You can see an example of one of those HERE.

To help me and also encourage YOU to post more images of people I have created this photography meme, The Human Condition, which will run every Saturday of the year.

I hope that ‘The Human Condition’ will encourage all your bloggers out there, regardless of what you blog about  to get your cameras out and see if you can take some pictures that include some sort of human life. They don’t have to be portraits as such but they do have to contain the human form in some description. They could be a self portrait, a hand, a foot, a street scene anything that contains human life. Use your imagination! I want you to be creative. Don’t be afraid to play around with your images, turn them black or white, enhance the colour, blur or sharpen then. This is about having fun.

So here are the rules to The Human Condition.

1. Your post must contain a photograph that you took or that someone took for you (Original content only)
2. The image(s) must contain human life in some form or other.
3. No images of illegal activates including, drug taking, bestiality, paedophilia or any sexual acts with a minor.
4. Artful/tasteful nudes are allowed but please remember this blog is for a more family friendly audience.
5. Your post can contain words but please try to keep them to a minimum; this is all about the image.
6. No product reviews.
7. Leave the link to your post in the link tool on the main page
8.  Download the meme badge below and insert into your post making sure that it links back to
9. Tweet, promote, tell your friends about it as much as you can and lastly but by no means least please don’t forget to visit the other people who are playing along and leave them some comment love.

The linky tool will be open ON THIS PAGE each week from Friday 10.30pm to 10am Sunday (UK time) which should hopefully give everyone a chance to join in no matter where they are in the world.

  1. This sounds like a wonderful idea! I will add your badge to appear on my Meme-Aholics blog for Saturday memes.
One small question – In the first part of your explanation above, you say the photos can be of anyone, but in the numbered rules, number one says (or implies) that the photo should be one of “you”! This is a little confusing! I am presuming you mean that as long as the photo contains “humans” that fits the meme! Am I right? Perhaps point number 2 should be first, and the current number one should be number 2 and re-phrased. Just a suggestion!
All the best with your new meme!

Thank you for this. I have changed the wording slightly so it should make sense now. My reason for number 1 was to ensure that people linked in original content or images that they owned or took and not something generic from the interwebs ;) and yes the image must contain some sort of human life.
