Day 90 – Balloon

It's amazing what floats right past your bedroom window sometimes... "In a balloon, you can decide only when to start, and usually when to stop. The rest is left entirely to nature." ~ William Pene du Bois Ps...Click on the icon below to see who else is joining in with Sunday In My City

Day 83 – Blues!

Last night the clocks changed and we are now officially in British Summer Time mode.... but as you can see from lack of leaves on the trees, we may have wonderful blue skies but things are far from summery. Amazingly not a single parent forgot about the change and so football kicked off beneath this beautiful blue sky on time, and they won, 4 - 0. Come on you blues! "A tree against the sky possesses the same interest, the same character, the same expression as the figure of a human."~ Georges Rouault Ps... Click on the icon below…

Day 82 – Pigeon Post

"France has found a unique way of controlling its unwanted critter population. They have done this by giving unwanted animals like snails, pigeons, and frogs fancy names, thus transforming common backyard pests into expensive delicacies. These are then served to gullible tourists, who will eat anything they can't pronounce." ~ Chris Harris

Day 75 – Daffy

They are my favourite flower. I think because I associate them so strongly with the end of winter and the beginning of some hint of warmth in my life. When ever I see them I know the cold is slowly going away and soon my garden will be filled with lots of colour. For now, I am greeted with these little rays of sunshine every time I open my front door. “Daffodils that come before the swallow dares, and takes the winds of March with beauty.” ~ William Shakespeare

Spring is definitely in the air... today I could feel it's warmth on my skin "I never get tired of the blue sky."  ~Vincent van Gogh

Day 56 – In The Moo’d

Whilst waiting for our friends in Southport last weekend we stumbled across this little farm and of course I couldn't resist getting my camera out. All the cows in this shed were either completely disinterested in me or else gave me a very wide berth apart from this one. She seemed to be fascinated by me and the more pictures I took the further she pushed his head between the bars to investigate what I was up too. Unlike her companions she didn't have a shy bone in her body, in fact she seemed to be quite the attention…

Lady Chatterley's Lover

Day 54 – Lady Chatterley

I took this picture in the UK Border Agency National Museum in Liverpool. It is one of the many copies that was confiscated by the UK border police prior to 1960. Apparently it was quite a common thing for ladies of 'class and distinction' to travel to Europe for their summer holidays and return with this amongst their belongs. I wonder if they did anything else whilst on holiday apart from reading... "Sex is really only touch, the closest of all touch. And it's touch we're afraid of." ~ D. H. LAWRENCE, Lady Chatterley's Lover   Ps... Click on…
