“Cats were put into the world to disprove the dogma that all things were created to serve man.” ~Paul Gray
After weeks and weeks of looking at other peoples snow photography I actually found myself wishing we would get some of the white stuff here so that I could have a go at my own versions. As January came and went I was pretty convinced that we had managed to get through this winter without snow, but I was wrong. I took the opportunity to take tons of pictures, you see some of them HERE and HERE but after spending hours trying to decide what to post for Sunday In My City I went for this, the view from my front door. Now that’s done can please have some sign of spring time….please!
Of winter’s lifeless world each tree
Now seems a perfect part;
Yet each one holds summer’s secret
Deep down within its heart.

School was closed on Monday due to the ‘extreme weather conditions’. Luckily we didn’t have ‘extreme weather conditions’ just a couple of inches of snow to play in, the reason for school being shut remains a mystery but hopefully at parents evening on Thursday they can enlighten me as to why they awarded themselves a bonus day off work….

Yesterday evening after some shoe shopping we walked round to the local pub and had a very lovely dinner together. I do love my children but I have to say I adore the weekends when they go to their Fathers house and we get to be just the two of us and share ice cream sundae’s before heading home for a bite of the cherry….

The theme for this weeks Gallery is: Me Right Now. “Literally take a photo of whatever you’re doing when you read this prompt.”
I admit that I had to cheat slightly with this one as she was sitting on my lap when I first read the prompt but to take the picture I had to boot her off so that I could set up the camera. Luckily she didn’t flounce off in a huff but pretty much as soon as I sat back down she reclaimed her space…..
“A catless writer is almost inconceivable. It’s a perverse taste, really, since it would be easier to write with a herd of buffalo in the room than even one cat; they make nests in the notes and bite the end of the pen and walk on the typewriter keys.” ~ Barbara Holland

I have walked past this gate more times than I care to think about. It right in the centre of our local woodlands where the 3 main paths meet and it stands proudly there, always locked and yet what is it’s purpose? I have stood at this gate and pondered this question over and over again. There is no old fence, or even natural boundary yet here it stands alone and pointless apart from providing every person who ever comes across it with an unsolved mystery and for people like me a photograph that for once even I can see, rocks!
