Day 120 – Happy Place

I took this picture a couple of weeks ago in a small piece of woodland that I visit often on my walks. I have taken some beautiful self portrait pictures here and some lovely shots of female friends who wanted their picture taken. Over the last 6 months I have watched this space transform from autumn to winter and into spring again. I have sat quietly here and watched a deer wander by. It has been a beautiful and peaceful place for me. Yesterday I returned there yet again, it is a favourite place for me, and was shocked to…

Day 66 – Eroticon 2013

“We communed, we reinforced each other’s sense of the unacknowledged importance of our place in contemporary literature. In essence, it was a lovely, long and delicious group headfuck." ~ Remittance Girl Ps... I spent this last weekend at this event as both a speaker and delegate immersing myself in the wonderful community of sex bloggers and erotic writers. Best weekend ever! Meatballs sizzling in the pan

Day 314 – Feed me

The prompts this week naturally led me towards combining favourites and food together into one image. I am a very lucky woman, my husband loves to cook and is very good at it. It is the reason I have to go to Zumba classes 3 times a week otherwise I would have no hope of ever fitting in my jeans again. Meatballs are one of my absolutely favourite things he cooks. Day 216 – Sea Saw

Looking back through my images that I took while we were in Greece I realised how much I have missed the sea and that I must not let so much time pass before seeing it again. I think the sea/ocean is amazing and it's simple beauty beyond any other of the natural wonders of the world. "The sea is everything. It covers seven tenths of the terrestrial globe. Its breath is pure and healthy. It is an immense desert, where man is never lonely, for he feels life stirring on all sides." ~ Jules Verne Ps... Click on the…

Day 213 – Blue Nights

We have just arrived back in the UK after a blissful week on the Greek island of Zante. The weather here in the UK is damp, grey and fairly miserable. I miss the beautiful blue skies and bright sunshine already. "Excuse me while I kiss the sky." ~ Jimi Hendrix Ps... Red phone box and letter box in St Katherines Dock London

Day 199 – Jurassic Talk

To me the old style red phone boxes seem just as much an iconic image of London as Tower Bridge or the Houses of Parliament and yet the rise of the mobile phone and the internet has resulted in these 2 dinosaurs of communication proudly sitting side by side in St Katharine's Dock waiting for someone to use them... No-one made a phone call of posted a letter while I was there but there was a steady stream of tourists posing for photographs with them. “Two of the cruelest, most primitive punishments our town deals out to those who…

I like this quote because when I look at this image I see freedom and excitement and yet they are chains.... "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are." ~ Anais Nin Ps... Click on the icon below to see who else is joining in with Macro Monday

Dad watching son play football

Day 159 – It’s Just A Game

At last the football session is over here for my son and so for the time being there will be no more rushed Sunday morning drives to games in the pouring rain. I won't miss it in the slightest. One of the other things that I hate about the whole thing is the shouty Dad's. I am sure you know the type, who stand on the edge berating their son(s) and sometimes even the whole team for not performing as they would wish. Their constant commentary just seems to grate on my nerves, they seem to have forgotten that…

Day 127 – Sleepy Head

I LOVE our bed, although I am a terrible night owl. I am at my most productive late at night and so will often stay up into the early hours working and as a result I am not very good at getting up in the morning. "The bed is a bundle of paradoxes:  we go to it with reluctance, yet we quit it with regret; we make up our minds every night to leave it early, but we make up our bodies every morning to keep it late." ~ Charles Caleb Colton Ps...
