Horse whispering a secret into a mans ear

Day 17 – Horse whispering

“You can kiss me if you like," she said. Alex let go of her and turned away. "Thanks, Fiona," he said. "But frankly I'd prefer to kiss the horse.” ~ Anthony Horowitz Whilst out for a walk recently this horse took quite a fancy to my husband. It took us a few moments to realise that he has discovered the the 3 days of stubble on my husbands face felt really nice being brushed against the top of his lip. He stood there holding his face close and pulling his top lip up and down over and over again lightly…

Aqua green eyes of young girl

Day 16 – For she has eyes

“For she had eyes and chose me.” ~ William Shakespeare This is my daughter and that makes me biased I know and yet there is no denying that she has the most beautiful eyes. The edit has turned them an aqua green but the truth of the matter is they are steely blue. She has an abundance of dark hair and slightly olive skin tons all of which make the blue eyes stand out even more. The shape of our eyes are almost identical but the blue is most definitely a gift from her Father.

Young girl watching Passenger in concert London Apollo first live music gig

Day 12 – The First One

Now we've got holes in our hearts, yeah we've got holes in our lives Where we've got holes, we've got holes but we carry on ~ Passenger At the end of last year we went with my children to see Passenger in concert. For both my kids it was their first live gig experience and so I was super delighted that we go their earlier enough for them both to be near the front especially my daughter who, like me, is on the short side. As for you can see from this shot she was utterly lost in the moment.…

A male runner on rural footpath. Running is therapy

Day 9 – Therapy

Mobile phone lights at Passenger concert in London, little lights song

Day 2 – Little Lights

"We're born with millions Of little lights shining in the dark And they show us the way One lights up, every time you feel love in your heart One dies when it moves away" ~ Passenger Just over a month ago we went to see Passenger in concert. When he sung this song, an absolute favourite of mine, he asked everyone to 'light up' which they did. It was an amazingly beautiful sight, the whole place glowed and twinkled. Sadly I only had my camera phone with me so the quality of this image is not perfect but I think…

Train foot bridge in black and white. Journey on

Day 366 – Journey on

“It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end.” ~ Ursula K. Le Guin Here I am again, another year completed. If you don't already know this is my 5th year of the 365 Project. It has been a great journey and I can't believe I have been doing it for 5 years. It is has completely transformed my photography pushing me to see more, do more, learn more, experiment more. Now would seem a good time to stop, after all 5 years is a real achievement, or maybe…

Portrait of young girl in front of Christmas tree stars taken with Lens Baby

Day 355 – Lovely stars

“Silently, one by one, in the infinite meadows of heaven, Blossomed the lovely stars, the forget-me-nots of the angels.” ~  Henry Wadsworth Longfellow I took this portrait of my beautiful daughter with my Lens Baby with the star shape filter inserted into the lens. I have played about with the exposure a bit, bought up the clarity around her eyes and changed the colour tones but apart from that this is what came out of the camera.

Passenger in concert Hammersmith Apollo Young as the morning old as the sea

Day 348 – Young as the morning

"I wanna be free as the winds that blow past me Clear as the air that I breath To be young as the morning" And old as the sea - Young as the Morning Old as the Sea by Passenger A couple of weeks ago we all went to see Passenger in concert. It was the first live gig for my kids. We got there early so that we might get a spot at the front and they were very patient waiting in the cold. As you can see from the picture it was worth the wait. Getting a good…

workman reflected in tunnel walls, humanity of the moment.

Day 344 – Humanity of the moment

"There is one thing the photograph must contain, the humanity of the moment. This kind of photography is realism. But realism is not enough - there has to be vision, and the two together can make a good photograph." ~ Robert FrankPeople were constantly pouring along this walkway which had been set up to protect the pedestrians from the construction site above the road. I waited, hoping to get a shot of it empty and then this happened. Not the shot I had envisaged, but a much better one.

Day 341 – A little more dance

“To be creative means to be in love with life. You can be creative only if you love life enough that you want to enhance its beauty, you want to bring a little more music to it, a little more poetry to it, a little more dance to it.” ~ Osho

Day 334 – Easy Running

“Running is real and relatively simple…but it ain't easy.” ~ Mark Will-Weber I am not a runner, not in any significant way that is. I run mainly on the treadmill at the gym but I complete my first 5k race this year. I was not particularly fast but it was a huge personal achievement for me. Will there be more races? I suspect not. I am not sure I have much more to give my running self but having said that I have learned to say, never say never.
