“Many collectors died in process of searching for new species, and despite persistent reports that the men died from drowning, gunshot and knife wounds, snakebite, trampling by cattle, or blows in the head with blunt instruments, it is generally accepted that in each case the primary cause of death was orchid fever.” ~ Eric Hansen
“I am not a glutton - I am an explorer of food” ~ Erma Bombeck I am very blessed to married to a man who loves to cook and not just meals, he is also is a regular and very enthusiastic baker. Our house often smells of delicious things he is creating in the kitchen. As a result I am a regular attendee at the gym mainly so I can happily enjoy eating delicious things that he makes like this cinnamon buns.
"The singular point of beautiful objects, and people, is that they are experienced not as parts, or ratios between cheekbones and chin, but as wholes. The experience of beauty is a perception, but it is one that mixes up various other sensations and makes them converge in a particular way." ~ Charles Jencks We always tend to think of women when we use the word beauty or beautiful but I think that is the result of women's value being so focus on how they look not who and what they are rather than on any actual truths. Men are beautiful…
“And all the winds go sighing, For sweet things dying” ~ Christina Rossetti“ Even in its last moments a flower can still be a beautiful thing. This is a single Hyacinth bloom, curled and faded, its pretty white gone, its scent just a memory. It is a shadow of its former self and yet it lingers in a new state somewhere between death and life.

Last year I planted lots of them in the grass in my front garden. They look lovely now but I have realised that to…
“Never try to out-stubborn a cat.” ~ Robert A. Heinlein This gloriously stubborn and utterly self absorbed creature lives in our house with us and goes by the name of Mr Wawa (yes we named him after the chain of convenience stores in PA) He has some other names though, Intheway and Rude, being the two main ones because well, I think they speak for themselves really.
I hate litter. It is a real bug bear of mine and something I have 0 tolerance for. You only have to ask my children about it to know that. Apple cores and the like are one thing, they actually provide sustenance to the natural world but not when you discard on the pavement (sidewalk for the Murricans). However trash like this just drives me nuts. Oh and just in case you are wondering, after I took this picture I picked up the can and carried it with me until I finally found a bin to put it in.
