“I see nothing in space as promising as the view from a Ferris wheel.” ~ E.B. White
There are Ferris Wheels and then there is the London Eye. When it was originally erected in 1999 it was the world’s tallest Ferris wheel. It remains the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe. The wheel is 443 feet (135 m) tall and has a diameter of 394 feet (120 m). There are 32 sealed and air conditioned passenger capsules each one representing one of the 32 London Boroughs. They hold up to 25 people in each pod and a trip round the wheel takes approximately 30 minutes.
