Day 115 – Camellia

Pink camellia in spring sunlight

“If you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it’s your world for a moment.” ~ Georgia O’Keeffe

My garden definitely has a wild streak to it. Lots of corners of over grown wilderness. There are wild flowers mixed in with cultivated varieties and the colour scheme is well, colours. I like it that way, which is a good thing as I lack time to dedicate to it and it is rather on the large side so just leaving some to do its own thing is the only option but over the years I have planted many things including this beautiful blush pink camellia that is currently so full of blooms that it is struggling to stay upright.

    Beautiful flower and beautiful words!

  2. So lovely! We have a couple of camelias, and they brighten the late winter landscape so beautifully.

    Lovely.

My flowers are slow to grow this season; it’s been a cold, over-wet spring and like the petals that are late to bloom, I am stubbornly waiting for the warmth of the sun.
