I think there is a lot of truth to this statement. We don’t just see nature, we experience it and as such a photograph can only hint at that moment. You can not show the bird song, or the buzz of the bees, or the warmth of the sun on your skin, or the gentle movement of the leaves as the breezes flows through them. You can’t capture those in a photo but you can definitely hint at them and hopefully if you have done a good job the viewers knowledge and memory does the rest.
